Experience :
Dr. Mohammed Zayed Awad has over 18 years of teaching experience in the oil industry and universities. He also has petroleum research supervision experience in various universities and research centers.
After graduation he was appointed as Teaching Assistant in the University of Khartoum. He obtained a M.Sc. in Sedimentology & Stratigraphy in 1987 in the framework of the German-Sudanese research project, SFB 69. In the period 1986-1994 Dr. Zayed joined the Basin Study Research Group at the Technical University of Berlin in Germany where he obtained his Ph.D.
Dr. Zayed was then appointed as an Assistant Professor in 1994 at the University of Khartoum where he supervised many M.Sc. projects in Sedimentology, Basin Modeling, and Biostratigraphy.
In 1997 he joined the Oil Exploration and Production Authority of Sudan (OEPA) where he worked on block promotion. After one year he was transferred to Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company (GNPOC) as Team Leader with the Basin Study Group in Calgary, Canada, and later as Section Head. He was also a mentor in utilizing stratigraphy as an effective tool in Hydrocarbon Exploration, in Petroleum System Analysis, and in Risk and Decision Analysis. He also worked as an Instructor for oil firms with PETRO-TEC and EREX in United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Sudan,
Dr. Zayed has professional memberships in AAPG, PESG and AASP. He is currently working with the APCO as an Exploration Manager
