Advanced Petroleum Company (APCO) is an operating company for a Joint Venture of five national and international shareholding partners. Namely, APCO’s Shareholders are Cliveden Petroleum (Sudan), Hi-Tech Petroleum, Sudapet, Khartoum State and Higleig Petroleum. APCO was officially established on 21st October 2003 by the signing of the Exploration & Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) between the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Sudan and the Company’s Shareholders.
APCO’s concession area (Block C; see concession map) covers sixty five thousand square kilometers in Southern Darfour region. The block is elongated in shape and runs parallel to the Central African Rift belt which proven to have a high hydrocarbon potential in Sudan, Central African Republic and Chad. Block C is bordered by concession areas of other sister operating companies that are actually producing oil from several lucrative fields. |

Currently, APCO’s activities are focused on proper exploration of the block, which has commenced by evaluating the data inherited from previous operators, passing through acquisition of geophysical data and culminating into the drilling of the Company’s first Wild Cat by the 4th quarter of 2004.
APCO’s mission is to become one of the top operating companies in the oil and gas industry of Sudan. The company’s philosophy to achieving its business goals is by employing state-of-the-art technology and techniques used today in the exploration and production of oil and gas coupled with the application of the current industry standards of HSE measures.
